After auditing the employment tax records of a Fortune 100 client, a leading public accounting firm recommended a strategy and filed with a government agency for a tax refund. Unfortunately, neither the accounting firm nor the client followed up on the claim, leaving thousands of the client’s dollars in the agency’s hands.
